About Calm Being
Teacher Charlotte Anne Latter-Miller (C.A.L.M)
I was first introduced to yoga as a teenager, when my sister came home from India with a video tape of Asana practice. Asana quickly became commonplace in our household, but it wasn't until later in life when I discovered the other rich aspects of yoga such as philosophy, pranayama and mantra.
By my early twenties I found myself desperately seeking a means to understand myself, feeling deeply confused by emotions, mental processes and falling into ill psycho-emotional health. At this time I discovered Vipassana meditation, which absolutely transformed my way of being. I regularly practiced Vipassana for many years before finding myself drawn to the teachings of non-dualism, Tantra and yogic philosophy.
In July 2025 I completed a two year (500+ hour) Yoga Teacher Training Course with the Mandala Yoga Ashram in South Wales, in the tradition of the Bihar School of Yoga. The training qualifies me to teach Hatha yoga, meditation, pranayama and Yoga Nidra. This was an extraordinary journey which has been truly transformational, and has brought me to where I am now.
A highlight of studying at the Ashram was the daily chanting and regular Kirtan sessions. These sessions have rekindled my love of music and group chanting. I sometimes bring elements of sound and mantra into the weekly yoga classes when appropriate.
I feel I need to also mention my love of climbing, how it has shaped my life and personality as much as meditation and yoga have. I see it as another spiritual practice in its own right, helping me meet with my fears, sense of self, understand my motivations and self worth, and deeply connect with nature.

"The classes so far have been perfect for me after a long day of sitting still and doing lots of thinking, providing therapy. I appreciate connecting back with my body/breath/movement, and being guided for a change.
It's exactly what I was looking for, very nourishing and kind and gentle."

"Charlotte's classes are wonderful. They very nicely combine healthy and pleasant physical movement with breath and meditation practices.
I very much enjoy how Charlotte includes some sound work in her classes. I love how the Om sounds with the whole class of students.
Also, Charlotte is very welcoming, friendly and warm, and she doesn't make the class feel too serious which I really appreciate"
